Tory mistakes

The Prime minister’s advisers and election campaign management are making a complete hash of things.

Theresa may has been trying to endear herself so much to Labour voters that in her move to the Left, she is losing the confidence of her traditional supporters.

Despite the ‘strong and stable leadership’ mantra, her personality has not shone through.

The manifesto pledge to charge for social care was a disaster, and whoever was responsible has cost the Conservatives dear. The message on social care has come out as punishing the middle class.

I am surprised that management of the economy, one of the Conservatives’ strong points, has hardly been mentioned. With good employment figures, there is much to be thankful. It’s time Theresa may really connected with her supporters. KARIM HYDE-SMITH,
