Out of the mouths of babes

-

When my boys were young, they loved copying their film heroes — Davy Crockett and Roy Rogers — and dashing about the garden shouting: ‘Charge, boys!’ Their favourite stories were about a cat called Dinah. About that time I decided to teach them the Lord’s Prayer. I felt they were doing well until I realised they were saying: ‘Our Father, which charged in heaven, hello be thy name . . .’ and ended with: ‘For Dinah is the kingdom, the power and the glory.’ I don’t think they had quite grasped the point!
