SAM WARBURTON soon twigged what to do when he was greeted by a traditional Maori ‘powhiri’ challenge on arriving in Auckland. The Lions skipper faced a spear-wielding Maori warrior, who laid down a small branch as a peace gesture to welcome the visitors. Warburton was happy to accept the token... and sow the seeds for a happy tour.
