We wept over the arena deaths say freed cousins

-

TWO cousins of Salman Abedi who were held by police for almost a week insisted last night that they had no idea he had been plotting a bomb attack.

Abdallah and Isaac Forjani, who were pictured on a beach in Libya with the fanatic, spoke of their shock after being released without charge on Tuesday.

Detectives now believe Abedi, 22, may have acted alone, buying components for his bomb and putting it together in the four days between his return from Libya and the Manchester attack on May 22.

Yesterday Abdallah, who runs a barber shop, and his brother Isaac, both 24, said they were left in tears at the loss of innocent lives.

Abdallah told ITV: ‘He never came and spoke to me about something serious. If he had, maybe I could have done something about it.’

Isaac added: ‘I couldn’t stop crying... every time that story was brought up, little girls, innocent lives.

‘You just couldn’t just stop yourself from crying, that’s all you can do. Their lives, 22 lives, have gone.’

The pair are understood to have been arrested in the early hours of last Wednesday after heavily armed police burst into their home in south Manchester.
