Sergio Bucher, 53 Chief executive, Debenhams

THE new boss of Debenhams has been given a £1.4m share award. Sergio Bucher, who is half Spanish and half Swiss, was given 2.8m shares worth £1.4m at today’s value.

The former Amazon executive, 53, was brought in to turn around the department store chain in October last year.

He moved to London after heading Ama- zon’s fashion business in Europe.

Bucher’s remuneration also includes a basic salary of £700,000, and a maximum bonus of £2.5m.
