ROLLS- ROYCE
is ‘putting on the Ritz’ to launch its eighth- generation Phantom limousine this summer — with a little help from Fred Astaire. On July 27 in Mayfair, London, it will host The Great Eight Phantoms exhibition to introduce its latest flagship. A teaser film shows the more streamlined grille of the new car with a ghostly Astairelike dancer, in top hat and tails, performing on the dashboard. Among the other magnificent seven Royces is The Fred Astaire Phantom I (pictured) from the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles, which Astaire bought in 1928 after his success dancing with his older sister Adele. Astaire kept the Phantom — not his last — until 1950.
