WARMER WINTER WINNERS

JUDITH Reseigh, 70, has grown her echiums for many years outside her home in balmy Carlyon Bay, in Cornwall.

Despite no watering, feed or special attention – a common report from our gargeners – the tallest now stands at an impressive 17ft 2ins.

Mrs Re seigh explained: ‘Obviously it likes it here. I think that the combination of the warmth from the brick and the mild winters we have here have been perfect for it. This particular plant is near our brickwalled house.’
