FLOWERS FIT FOR FESTIVAL
DEDICATED Ann Travers, 84, has a series of towering 15ft echiums which she planted in her enclosed garden on the south coast at Felpham, West Sussex.
All are self-seeded, with next year’s plants already shooting up.
Mrs Travers said: ‘They are quite a talking point, especially when the garden is open for the local flower festival in the village – with all money raised going to my local church. The echiums would not survive a severe frost, but luckily that rarely happens here on the south coast.’
