BEWARE OF THE FROST

Paula Knudsen, 58, left, grew her 14ft tall echium in her garden in King’s lynn, Norfolk, without any special compost or watering.

She bought the seeds online and sowed them two years ago. This summer it soared in height and blue flowers blossomed all the way to the tip.

Mrs Knudsen said: ‘ You must keep a watchful eye in winter, as they’re not frost-hardy. luckily, the winters here in Norfolk have been rather mild, so I only lightly wrapped it up
