Cricketers get driving practice

- Daily Mail Reporter

WHEN a cricket team became marooned on a dual carriageway on their way to a match, there was only one way to while away the hours. They put on their whites, padded up and played on the empty road.

Members of the Mochdre 2nd team from North Wales had set out to play Brymbo in Wrexham in a convoy of cars. But they became stuck on the A55 as police tried to talk a woman down from a bridge and closed the road. The crick- eters played on the empty carriageway opposite their cars. Batsman Jon Davies said the game lasted about an hour, adding: ‘We never made it to the match.’ The incident on Saturday ended after five hours when police brought the woman down.
