AND THE GREATEST OF THESE . . .

Heroes come in many forms And lots of shapes and sizes. You’d never know by looking, who they are.

It’s only when the bugle sounds They shed their drab disguises, Revealing armour, shining like a star.

Rushing forward, hearts ablaze, Giving all they can. To succour injured comrades as they fall.

Doctor, lawyer, preacher, Lord and Lady, handyman, Valorous Joe Public. Heroes all.

My wedding day wasn’t like Pippa’s — Dress too tight, I broke the zippers. At the local fish bar, Our cash didn’t go far, So our wedding breakfast was kippers.
