Our brave heroes

I AM a retired police firearms officer and sincerely hope the heroism of the unarmed British Transport Police officer who took on the three terrorists with his baton and the off- duty police officer who also confronted these cowards does not go unrewarded.

They should be recommended for the George Cross for heroism above and beyond the call of duty.

They have upheld the honour of the police force and have my respect, as do the firearms officers who dealt so decisively with these criminals. Well done.
