Britt Ekland’s fury after she and her dog are kicked off f light

THEY had just settled down in business class to enjoy their first flight together.

But Britt Ekland’s trip with her beloved dog – called David Bowie – ran into heavy turbulence before the plane even left the airport.

The pair were ‘booted off’ the flight from Los Angeles to Stockholm after a clerical mix-up meant their seats were double booked.

After being escorted off the KLM plane, the 74-year-old star and her canine companion were instead forced to get an Air France flight a few hours later. The former Bond girl had booked two separate seats for her and her new rescue home dog on the Monday flight, but KLM were unable to find a record of the booking, despite having previously sent Miss Ekland confirmation.

When someone else came to sit in Bowie’s seat, the duo were politely asked to leave as the Swedish star was unwilling to fly without her pet.

Following the incident, a furious Miss Ekland took to Instagram to post a photo of Bowie on his seat moments before the one-year-old mongrel was turfed out.

She captioned the snap ‘The flight that never was! Bumped off @klm and put on @airfrance instead!!!! Not nice behaviour of @klm’.

Yesterday she took to Instagram again to express her displeasure.

Showing off a haul of collectable miniature houses given out each flight to KLM’s business class passengers, she wrote: ‘In case you thought I used @klm casually this shelf of business class “gifts” ... shows that I made 9 business [return] flights [between] LAX/Stockholm, so I don’t feel that @klm after having been booted out of ... yesterday’s flight are loyal to their passengers and this will be thrown away, sad as they are so pretty but out they go, no mercy!’

A source said: ‘It was all rather unsettling for both Bowie and Britt, not to mention embarrassing. Britt has always been very loyal to the airline so she hoped they would be able to find them somewhere else to sit, but the plane was pretty full.

‘In the end, KLM admitted it was their error and paid for Britt and David Bowie to fly with another carrier an hour later.’

A spokesman for Miss Ekland confirmed that the Dutch carrier had accepted liability and paid for the new flight.
