Feckless fathers

-

THE millionaire paying only £ 7 per week in child support (Mail) is just one example of how some fathers avoid supporting their own flesh and blood.

I have experienced so much heartache trying to gain what is rightfully my children’s after my first husband decided he wanted more out of life than a wife and two children, aged six and two.

I have won countless battles and tribunal hearings over the years, but other than some gifts and holidays, he has not supported our children.

When they were young, we came close to losing our home — while my

former husband drove an Aston Martin and holidayed in Bali and Jamaica. He even sent the children postcards telling them what a great time he was having.

When the Child Support Agency sent a bailiff to his house when my youngest child was 13, he agreed to pay a small amount each month, but stopped after a few years.

How has he avoided paying for his children? By resigning as a director of his own company; removing his name from his mortgage; declaring himself bankrupt to avoid a charge from the Child Support Agency being placed on his house; and claiming not to receive a wage from his company, while financing his lifestyle with the company credit card.
