SUNNY SALES

Sales at Waitrose were 1.2pc higher last week, thanks to the sunshine over the bank holiday weekend. Salad and sandwich sales at the supermarket were up 15pc, while Pimms was up 55pc and Aperol up 70pc, taking total sales to £128.5m. Sales at owner John Lewis was up 2pc on last year, as the hot weather drove summer clothes up 40pc. Total sales were £83.8m.
