Lukaku: I want a return to Chelsea

- By SAMI MOKBEL

ROMELU LUKAKU has told his advisers to seal a return to Chelsea this summer. The Belgium international is determined to leave Everton, with Manchester United also in the running for his signature. But Lukaku has told agent Mino Raiola his preference is to head back to Chelsea, the club he left for £28million in 2014. ‘Staying at Everton is no longer an option for next season. I remain calm,’ Lukaku, 24, said. ‘There is nothing concrete with a club at the moment, my agent is busy discussing. ‘I’m not going to make big declarations about my future, but I know where I want to play: in a club that is fighting the Champions League and can win titles in England. ‘We are now in talks with the club and I am looking forward. ‘My agent knows what is going to happen and I know as well.’ Work is still to be done before Lukaku is granted his wish. A stumbling block is Everton’s £100m price tag, which would be a world record fee. Agreeing personal terms, though, will be a formality. ‘I’m staying calm and we have an agreement with the club as well,’ he added. ‘I’m just going to rest for a few days and then just prepare for next season. ‘I want to put the time in on my holiday to take everything to another level and be better than I was last year. We stay calm and at least we have a direction where we want to go.’
