JOHN PRESCOTT moans he will only be remembered for the punch he threw at a member of the public (Mail).

I disagree. He should be remembered for wasting half a billion pounds of taxpayers’ money on white elephant fire control centres and for his role in the expensive and secretive PFI contracts that continue to ratchet up enormous costs for the NHS. Other than that, his political career has been irrelevant. MIKE EDWARDS, Cheshire.
