True heroes

-

The armed police who shot the three London terrorists have been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

rather than wasting valuable resources on the nonsense of investigating the conduct of these heroic firearms officers, the IPCC should mark the file ‘No need for further investigation, everyone knows what happened’, thereby saving the police this affront to their bravery and dignity. GERALD SILLERY, Bangor, Co. Down. SUB- CLAUSeS in the human rights Act 1998 allow the Government to circumnavigate it in pursuit of criminals. These give immunity to government bodies, including the police and the security services, if the matter can be shown to be in the national interest, such as an investigation of serious criminality and threats to national security.

Any problems arise from the interpretation of the law by Leftleaning judiciary, not the law itself. PAUL CHARLES COOK,

Huddersfield, W. Yorks.
