Button buys £5m LA pad to be with girlfriend (don’t tell his ex)
THrOUGHOUT his failed one-year marriage, he never lived with his wife.
Eighteen months on, Jenson Button has clearly had a change of heart when it comes to domestic arrangements after paying £ 5million for a Los Angeles mansion to share with his new girlfriend.
The 37-year- old Formula 1 driver’s sprawling five-bedroom ranch comes with a spa, fire-pit and surround sound cinema, and boasts a ‘tree-top view’ of the Hollywood hills.
Fittingly for Button, now a keen triathlete, it also offers a salt-water swimming pool with mechanical spa jets.
Button, who previously rented a house in Monaco, has now moved to LA where he first met his American partner, Brittny Ward, a 26-year- old Playboy model.
However, his decision is sure to raise eyebrows with his exwife, model Jessica Michibata, with whom he never set up home. She shared a flat with her mother in Tokyo, while he lived in Monaco.
Last night a friend said: ‘Jenson and Brittny are ridiculously happy together, and felt ready to take the next step in their relationship. Now that Jenson’s retired from motor racing, he doesn’t need to be in Monaco and instead his focus now is on the forthcoming World Ironman triathlon.’
