OUT! Married woman in £34k Radley sex scandal
THIS was a tale of sex, claret and revenge at one of Britain’s most famous public schools. now, a year later, the married female teacher at the heart of the scandal is leaving radley College against her wishes, while her ex-lover remains in his post as Undermaster.
‘There is incredulity from all camps that he remains in that role from staff, parents, boys,’ I’m told.
‘She handed in her notice but then changed her mind three months later and wanted to stay, but the school had already accepted her resignation.’
radley College, the £34,000-a-year boarding school in Oxfordshire, hit the headlines last year after two married teachers were suspected of having an affair. richard Jackson, a 37- year- old former naval officer, is said to have discovered that his wife Theresa, 42, the popular head of history at the school, had been cheating on him with richard Greed, 54, a fellow history teacher and head of rugby.
The wronged husband then destroyed his love rival’s collection of expensive wines which was stored in the school cellar. He also reportedly took the last remaining bottle and delivered it to Greed’s doorstep, along with a brief note
that is believed to have said simply: ‘You will need this.’
At the time the school stood by its staff. Mrs Jackson has now separated from her husband.
Greed and his wife, Julie, who is a partner at a City property company, have a teenage son.
‘Greed’s wife punched him so hard in the eye and gave him such a shiner that he didn’t dare fool around again,’ I’m told. His wine cellar has since been replenished with donations from some of his old boys.
The Warden’s — or headmaster’s — office informs me: ‘ The College believes that personal relationships are a private matter for private individuals.
‘We can confirm that Mrs Jackson will be leaving of her own volition at the end of the summer term.’
