How to make your calories go further
FOR the same number of calories in the beef pasty, you could have a generous helping of lean sliced beef on sourdough with coleslaw, tomatoes and fruit. The swap gives you two-and-a-half portions of fruit and veg, and slashes your saturated fat intake from 17g (85 per cent of recommended daily intake) to 5.3g (a quarter). It also contains more than twice as much filling protein.
