FOR the same number of calories in the beef pasty, you could have a generous helping of lean sliced beef on sourdough with coleslaw, tomatoes and fruit. The swap gives you two-and-a-half portions of fruit and veg, and slashes your saturated fat intake from 17g (85 per cent of recommende­d daily intake) to 5.3g (a quarter). It also contains more than twice as much filling protein.
