THE boss of water company Severn Trent took home £2.45m in the year ending in March.

Liv Garfield, 41, a mother of two, was paid a salary of £673,000 and bonus of £ 615,000, with £975,000 of shares vested from a longterm incentive plan.

The former Openreach chief executive had a slight pay cut on the year before, down from £2.49m, after her bonus was cut by 12pc under more stringent targets.

Last year profits at Severn Trent rose 4.3pc to £525.2m.
