Chelsea’s Solanke snub

CHELSEA have taken it badly losing england Under 20 star Dominic Solanke to Liverpool judging by their initial website report on the england juniors winning the World Cup.

In paying tribute to Chelsea players Jake ClarkeSalter and Fikayo Tomori, there was no mention of Solanke — named best player of the tournament and still a Chelsea player until July 1 — until a brief sentence was added later.

even the picture used of the team celebrating had Josh Onomah’s hand blocking out Solanke’s face. Chelsea say that was the only image available. Solanke had featured in earlier match reports and his website profile has now been updated to include the Under 20 World Cup success.

LENGLAND boss Gareth Southgate, whose team will face Germany in November — as revealed by Sports Agenda — is happy to face the world champions for the third time in 18 months in friendlies in order to test the progress of his side. He said: ‘It would have been easy for me to ask for easier teams to try and manipulate our ranking and put my win percentage up, but what’s the point?’
