FRANKIE & Benny’s owner has appointed the boss of Patisserie Valerie to its board.

Paul May will join Restaurant Group, which also operates Mexican food chain Chiquito, as a non- executive director next month. May, who lives in Towcester, Northamptonshire with his family, has been chief executive at Birmingham-based Patisserie Valerie since 2006, overseeing the hand-made cake chain’s float on the AIM market in 2014, and its expansion into profit since then.
