DATE DOCTOR’S VERDICT

-

What can we learn about bad dates? Dating Doctor alana Kirk explains how a bad date can be a good thing. DATING is daring at the best of times. Meeting strangers, potential clashes of characters, bursting emotional baggage, dismal disappointment, lurching love — there’s so much that can go wrong.

Whether it’s a mismatched blind date, a misinformed internet date, or an out-ofdate Tinder picture, should we let a disappointing experience put us off or spur us on?

Dating isn’t easy, but it is always an opportunity to learn. If you have a date that started, went, or ended wrong, instead of throwing in the towel, ask yourself some tough questions and use it as an opportunity to evaluate what it is you want, or how you can handle it better next time.

Maybe it’s time for you to try something new, broaden your horizons or evaluate your expectations.

Try not to see a disappointing date as a waste of time, because bad dates happen to everyone. If we got it right every time, we’d only ever have to date once!

But to see a bad date as a reason to give up, is to resign yourself to a life without love. It takes effort, time and dedication, and when you find the one that works, all the other experiences will have been worth it. So go on, dare to date again.
