Under the knife

I WAS interested in the Good Health article about differing standards in NHS and private facilities.

I was due to undergo an operation in a private clinic by a consultant who also works in the NHS.

Wanting to find out the success rate of that surgeon with that procedure, I rang the General Medical Council (GMC) to ask for advice. They were unable to help, but referred me to the Department of Health, who referred me to NHS Digital, who referred me to NHS Choices, who referred me to NHS England, who also couldn’t help and referred me to . . . the GMC!
