-

MANCHESTER UNITED have sealed a £30.7million deal for Benfica centre back Victor Lindelof.

The 22-year-old Sweden defender signed a four-year contract yesterday, with the option of an extra year.

‘Victor is a very talented young player who has a great future ahead of him at United,’ said Mourinho. ‘Our season last year showed us that we need options and quality to add depth to the squad and Victor is the first to join us this summer. I know that our fantastic group of players will welcome him as one of us.’

Lindelof, who came through the ranks at hometown club Vasteras before moving to Portugal, has 12 caps for his country. He said: ‘I am thrilled to be joining Manchester United. I’m looking forward to playing in the Premier League at Old Trafford and for Jose Mourinho.’

BAYERN MUNICH have signed Lyon’s French midfielder Corentin Tolisso, 22, for a Bundesliga record of £36.5m, rising to £41m.
