Politicians, for all our sakes, stop this petty bickering!

-

LOOKING at some of the comments on social media, you would think that Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and his acolytes had won the General Election. It has to be said Labour did run a well-organised campaign, even though it was based on unrealistic promises, but at the end of the day, they did not get enough votes to govern. The Conservative Party got the most votes and were the winners, albeit not by as many seats as they would have liked. I was disgusted by former Chancellor George Osborne, who behaved like a spoilt child as he delighted at the difficulties Theresa May is facing and showed no loyalty. Now it’s time for everyone to start behaving like grown-ups: stop all this in-fighting, put aside petty squabbles and backbiting and get on with the important decisions that have to be made over Brexit. We all know mistakes have been made, but the future of our country is the most important issue. We must get on with securing the best deal we can to stop all the uncertainty and worry, so that we can progress as a nation with a prosperous future for everyone. We have a great country, and those who have the power to do so must work together to keep it that way for the benefit of us all. SUe DAWSON, Ashton-under-Lyne, Gtr Manchester.
