Underhill’s England debut excites Jones

- WILL KELLEHER

SAM UNDERHILL will make his england debut here tomorrow, becoming the 11th new cap on this tour to Argentina. The Bath-bound openside flanker has fully recovered from a shoulder knock and replaces Tom Curry who faced the agony of being dropped on his 19th birthday yesterday. As revealed by Sportsmail, Chris Robshaw will partner Underhill in the back row, playing his first Test since December, and Piers Francis comes in for Alex Lozowski at inside centre. There is much excitement about Underhill, 20, who is mentored by World Cup winner Richard hill. he has played in Wales for the Ospreys for the last two years and is tipped for stardom. england coach eddie Jones says he is a natural openside. ‘It will be exciting to see Sam make his debut,’ said Jones. ‘he is very strong and well put together. he decided from a very early age he wanted to be a seven and he has got the body. he is a good defensive player and reads the game well.’ Curry and Mark Wilson have cause to feel aggrieved after producing fine performances on debut last week, but Jones hailed Robshaw’s return. ‘Robbo has been one of england’s best players over the last two years and he will add experience and work rate into our back row,’ he added. ‘It was obviously hard on Tom and Wilson who both played well.’ Dylan hartley will become the third most capped englishman of all time when he plays his 86th match tomorrow, surpassing Lawrence Dallaglio and Rory Underwood in the list with now just Jonny Wilkinson (91) and Jason Leonard (114) ahead of him.
