THERE’S a distinctly melancholy air as the fifth and final series of this period crime drama begins. Picking up events where series four left off, tears flow as Bennet Drake is laid to rest following his murder by Nathaniel (Jonas Armstrong). Meanwhile, ‘fugitive offenders’ Reid, Susan and Jackson (Matthew Macfadyen, MyAnna Buring and Adam Rothenberg, pictured) hide beneath London’s streets as even more trouble brews above; none other than Jedidiah Shine (Joseph Mawle) has been called into H Division, both to cover Reid in his absence — and hunt him down.
