Charles tells of Queen’s shock at mosque horror

-

PRINCE Charles yesterday delivered a personal message from the Queen during a visit to a Muslim centre near the Finsbury Park attack in north London.

He met the imam who saved the suspect’s life and spoke to faith leaders at Muslim Welfare House yards from the scene of the attack in which one man died and 11 were injured on Monday when a rented van was driven at people leaving a mosque.

Those present yesterday included a victim of the suspected terrorist attack who was on crutches.

Charles said the Queen had asked him to say how shocked she was by what happened. He added: ‘Her Majesty’s thoughts and prayers are with you all.’

The Prince said imam Mohammed Mahmoud’s actions in shielding the suspect until police arrived were ‘remarkable’.
