Demelza snaps at selfie fans

LET’S hope no one asked Eleanor Tomlinson for a selfie at Ascot yesterday.

The Poldark star, who was wearing a £410 Three Floor Serafini dress, £570 Giuseppe Zanotti heels and a £1,185 Philip Treacy hat, has been moaning about being bombarded with approaches for ‘invasive’ photographs by fans.

Eleanor, 25, who plays Demelza, says she is asked at least once a day while filming the show in period costume in Cornwall.

‘The selfie is so so much the rage and I just find it so invasive if someone comes up to you and throws a phone in your face. It’s weird with TV. Because you’re in people’s living rooms, they feel they have this sense of ownership of you.

‘When we’re filming in Cornwall, in every shopfront you walk past, there’s some sort of Poldark memorabilia or book cover or something, and people consider you their property.

‘So I try to keep my head down. I just want to be known for the work.’

Oh dear, the downsides of fame.
