Carved avocado art!
CARVED vegetables have been seen in Chinese restaurants for years — but avocado carving is something entirely new. Daniele Barresi, 26, who’s originally from Italy, but now lives in Sydney, began cutting intricate sculptures into soap at the age of seven. Now, he’s moved on to avocados (below) . . . and cheese, watermelon, pears and broccoli. Each has incredibly elaborate patterns etched into them, and his talent recently won him the title of world champion of fruit and vegetable carving.
