SIR JOHN LAVERY was touted as a leading Derby contender in the Aidan O’Brien stable but, after his preparation did not go smoothly, he blew out in the Lingfield Derby trial. Now it looks significant that O’Brien is throwing the son of Galileo into the King Edward VII Stakes, a race often referred to as ‘Royal Ascot’s Derby’.
