Depp’s Trump death jibe
JOHNNY Depp caused controversy at Glastonbury by joking about assassinating Donald Trump.
The American actor, 5 , asked a crowd of 1,500 screaming fans: ‘When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?’
He arrived in a blue cadillac on Thursday night, to introduce his 200 film The Libertine at the festival’s drive-in cinema. He jumped on a car bonnet to give a rambling speech, saying: ‘I think he [Mr Trump] needs help and there are a lot of wonderful dark places he could go. It is just a question, I’m not insinuating anything … When was the last time an actor assassinated a president? I want to qualify, I am not an actor. I lie for a living. However, it has been a while [since an actor assassinated a president] and maybe it is time.’
A White House official told Fox News: ‘President Trump has condemned violence in all forms and it’s sad that others like Johnny Depp have not followed his lead.’
