What is the Piers Gaveston Society?

-

A PIERS Gaveston Society party was supposedly the setting for the extraordinary claim in 2015 involving then prime minister David Cameron and a pig’s head.

Set up in 1977, the secretive club, named after the 1st Earl of Cornwall and supposed gay lover of King Edward II, hosts hedonistic events involving heavy drinking and sex.

There are six principal members, ‘masters’, who have a younger student – a minion – as a kind of apprentice. They hold regular dinners where members assume titles such as Lord High Spanker and The High Priest of Pain. In 1986, a member called Count Gottfried von Bismarck awoke to find socialite Olivia Channon, 22, dead in his room. She had overdosed on heroin.
