edged out fellow Italian Danilo Petrucci in a thrilling battle at Assen to claim his first MotoGP win for more than a year. Rossi claimed victory by 0.063sec to move within seven points of championship leader Andrea Dovizioso, who was fifth. Rossi and Petrucci duelled over the final laps, with the latter holding the lead until three laps to go when Rossi, 38, passed at the chicane.
