Out of the mouths of babes

-

WE RECENTLY had two of our grandchildren, Billie and Aaron, for a Saturday night sleepover. On Sunday morning, we realised we didn’t have their usual breakfast porridge, and so I asked if they would like nice boiled eggs and toast instead. Billie, five, said yes — she loved eggs. Aaron, aged four, who usually goes in line with his sister, said yes, he would have them, too. The eggs were on the stove boiling, when Aaron piped up: ‘Nanna, when you do my boiled eggs, can I just have toast please, but no eggs — OK?’ His face was pure innocence and he couldn’t understand why we creased up laughing!
