÷For Remembrance Day, Jon Snow refuses to wear a poppy on his Channel 4 show, in protest against ‘poppy fascism’. ÷Talking about Brexit in an interview before last year’s vote, he called the referendum a ‘ridiculous thing’ which could lead to something ‘terrifying to behold’. ÷He is known to frequently post Leftleaning, pro-EU messages on Twitter. On the day of the referendum result, he wrote: ‘The bakery this morning, two sixth formers … in tears to me: “What have these old people who voted LEAVE done to our lives?”’ ÷In January he wrote: ‘A brutal BREXIT does indeed now look real, Trump will be thrilled, He disdains both the EU and Nato, Mrs May will get a warm welcome!’ ÷This month he tweeted: ‘It does not take a whole Government to negotiate BREXIT: why abandon 2018 Queen’s Speech amid worst social housing crisis since 1945?’ ÷Ahead of a BBC Question Time election special, he wrote: ‘The Tories call an election at a time of their own choosing, and then warn that Labour’s about to win it. Funny old world!’
