PERSONALLY, I don’t think Laura Kuenssberg, the BBC’s political editor, is at all divisive, as some suggest. But that’s probably because my husband, unlike practically every other man I know, doesn’t fancy her madly.
‘What is it about her?’ I asked one male friend, also an MP. ‘It’s something about the idea of being subject to firm interrogation by her,’ he replied, a slightly deranged glint in his eye.
Which just goes to show: you can work twice as hard as the boys, be twice as tough, take twice as much flak — and you’ll still be judged by your looks.
