A TORY MP has accused a hard-Left head teacher nicknamed Red Siobhan of running a campaign to oust him from his seat.

David Morris said Siobhan Collingwood went on a political crusade in the run-up to the general election, which included posting a bizarre anti-Tory song online.

The 50- year- old activist, a member of the National Union of Teachers and head of Morecambe Bay Primary School, also tweeted inflammatory messages about Government ‘cuts’.

Using her public Twitter account she called Tory voters ‘sociopaths’, the Conservatives ‘the nasty party’ and likened Theresa May to a ‘dalek’.

In a personal attack on Mr Morris, MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale in Lancashire, she posted one of his campaign leaflets with the insult: ‘Finish this slogan – David talks -----’.

She also joined rallies and leafleted parents, warning of a Tory threat to schools.

Much of the campaigning took place during purdah – the period before polling day when school employees and other civil servants are banned from any activities that favour a particular party.

Mr Morris, who kept his seat with more votes than in 2015, said Mrs Collingwood, whom he claims is known locally as Red Siobhan, abused her position.

He added: ‘Parents respect their head, so I am sure her views were taken into consideration when deciding which way to vote. It’s very unprofessional. She should remain impartial.

‘She has a political agenda. I take exception to her politicising children in my constituency. It is an abuse of trust.’ As part of the campaign, Mrs Collingwood wrote a parody of the Bob Dylan song Subterranean Homesick Blues, in which she managed to misspell ideologue as ‘ideagogue’.

She tweeted: ‘Look out kids, you’re gonna get hit, by half truth cheaters, ideagogues as leaders...’

Of Theresa May’s slim majority, she wrote: ‘What a great incentive to vote Labour!’ and commenting on a TV appear- ance she posted: ‘ Ohh diddumns, beginning to look more like Bambi than a dalek.’

She also said: ‘You don’t have to be mad or a sociopath to vote Tory but it certainly helps’.

Mr Morris said he had tried to help the school with repair work, and arranged for Mrs Collingwood to meet schools minister Nick Gibb, which she then refused to do because fellow heads were not invited.

He added: ‘It does feel like a personal attack to further her own political agenda.’

Mrs Collingwood said last night: ‘ At no time did I act in breach of purdah. Any activities or views are purely personal and carried out in my own time.’

Yesterday, Education Secretary Justine Greening criticised head teachers who sent political messages to parents during the election campaign, adding: ‘All parents expect teachers to behave professionally.

‘We saw what to many felt like utterly political messages put out inappropriately.’
