Help – there’s a live lobster in my luggage!
IT may not have set off the airport’s metal detectors.
But with a weight of 20lb, eight moving legs, and two huge pincers, this lobster was soon spotted in a passenger’s bag.
Security staff at Boston’s Logan International Airport found the live creature in checked-in luggage on Sunday.
Michael McCarthy of the US Transportation Security Administration said: ‘It’s certainly the largest lobster I have ever seen.’ But the TSA does not ban them. It states only that live ones must be carried in a ‘clear, plastic, spill-proof container’.
‘It’s actually fairly common in the New England region,’ Mr McCarthy told the Boston Globe newspaper. He tweeted a photo of the lobster, adding that it ‘cooperated quite nicely’.
