Ex-tech boss’s DIY role
FORMER ARM Holdings boss Stuart Chambers has been appointed to the board of Wickes owner Travis Perkins.
Chambers will join the building, construction and home improvement group as a non-executive director in September.
He will take over as chairman in November following the retirement of Robert Walker. It is Chambers’s second board appointment within weeks after he was appointed to replace Sir John Parker as chairman of miner Anglo American.
Travis Perkins has felt the squeeze during the past year. In March, it reported earnings had fallen 1pc last year after a poor performance in its plumbing and heating business
