MEGA-PAY FOR A TOP-FOUR FINISH
ARSENAL are offering Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil huge Champions League pay hikes to sign new contracts. The Gunners, who are closing on Monaco forward Thomas Lemar, are yet to resolve the long-running contract disputes that have left a cloud hanging over the club. And Sportsmail can reveal that they have now offered the star duo huge pay rises — in the region of 20 per cent — in a bid to persuade them to sign. The wage increases would be triggered once Arsenal regain their Champions League status. The club missed out on European football’s top competition for the first time in 20 years last season by finishing fifth. Sanchez and Ozil have rejected new deals in excess of £250,000 a week and are entering the final 12 months of their existing deals. Both players want more than £300,000 a week. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain — who is being tracked by Liverpool and Chelsea — is also likely to be offered a similar Champions League bonus.
