SPONSOR DUMPS EVANS OVER DRUGS

DAN EVANS has been dumped by sponsors Ellesse as the British No 3 continues to pay for failing a drug test for cocaine. The Italian sportswear company say they cannot condone 27-year-old Evans’ lifestyle and the world No 50 will lose a contract worth tens of thousands of pounds a year. Ellesse said in a statement: ‘Dan has shown great promise and been a valued member of the team... however we cannot condone his lifestyle choices and are therefore withdrawing his sponsorship.’ Evans (right) joined Ellesse in March after Nike refused to renew a deal with him. The International Tennis Federation are yet to sentence him.
