Rihanna’s new boyfriend is a Saudi heir to £1bn fortune
SHE has dated a string of A-listers including award-winning musicians and a baseball star.
But while Rihanna’s new boyfriend might not be quite so famous, he’s certainly not short of a bob or two.
The pop star, 29, is dating Saudi motoring tycoon Hassan Jameel, who is in line to inherit a £1billion fortune.
The couple were spotted kissing and drinking champagne in the pool of a luxury villa in Ibiza this week. Afterwards, Mr Jameel – who has previously been linked to supermodel Naomi Campbell – was seen beaming as the couple went for a coffee on the Spanish island.
Rihanna, who is worth an estimated £28million, had her hands full carrying her drink, jacket and a bunch of flowers.
A source told The Sun: ‘This relationship is the real deal. Rihanna has told friends she’s in love with him and seems completely smitten. They’ve been spending a lot of time together away from prying eyes and are really serious. They’re really enjoying each other’s company.’
Mr Jameel is deputy president of his family firm Abdul Latif Jameel, which he is also set to inherit. The business owns distribution rights for Toyota cars in various countries around the world. His family was ranked 12th in Forbes Middle East’s list of the world’s richest Arabs, with a net worth of $1.5billion (£1.2billion) last year, and are also said to own a football league in Saudi Arabia called the Jameel league.
His father Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, president of the firm, received an honorary knighthood from the Queen in 2014 in recognition of his philanthropy and support for British arts and culture.
Last year, Mr Jameel was pictured looking affectionate with Miss Campbell, 47, at the British Summertime Festival in London. Like his father, he has also rubbed shoulders with British royalty, meeting Prince Andrew when he visited Saudi Arabia in 2014.
Rihanna – who has had eight UK number ones and amassed a huge fan base, with more than 54million Instagram followers – previously dated Canadian rapper Drake, American hip-hop artist Travis Scott and baseball player Matt Kemp. She split from long-term boyfriend R&B star Chris Brown in 2009 after he assaulted her.
