july 3, 1940 The King and Queen have firmly rejected suggestion­s from influentia­l quarters that Princess elizabeth and Princess Margaret should be sent out of the country at this juncture. The King and Queen have said: ‘We all face a common peril. We would prefer to share whatever family perils there may be with the parents of this country.’ july 3, 1969 Brian Jones, the pop star who broke with the rolling stones recently, was found dead early today. his body was discovered at his farmhouse home at hartfield, sussex. Jones (pictured), 27, was one of the original rolling stones. he was lead guitarist. he became famous for his poker face, maintained whatever the number the group were playing.

FONTELLA Bass (1940-2012). The american soul singer is best known for her 1965 hit rescue Me, which has been described as ‘the best record aretha Franklin never made’. it took her more than 20 years of legal battles to be credited as a co-writer on the song and receive royalties for it.
