Downhill fast for Pacey

It hasn’t gone unnoticed that former winter sport athlete Jenny pacey, who plays an Amazonian woman in blockbuster film Wonder Woman, claims to be an olympic competitor on her website and twitter account, as well as in film publicity.

Yet the nearest pacey got to the Games was being on the reserve list for the team GB bobsleigh team at the 2006 Winter olympics in turin. She didn’t travel to Italy, let alone compete. Following complaints, the British olympic Association have written a strong letter to pacey asking her to desist from claiming to be an olympic athlete.

THE ECB, flush with £1.1billion from their media rights deals, are to set up an advisory group to drive the participation partnership with Sky Sports. The aim is to come up with a community initiative on a par with cycling’s Sky Rides.
