VILLA ISN’T THE PLACE TO BE A TRUE BLUE, JT

-

SOME may doubt John Terry’s sincerity when he says he did not sign for a Premier League club because he couldn’t play against Chelsea. They will think, cynically, that he went to Aston Villa for the money, or didn’t get good offers in the big league. Don’t believe it. When I last saw Terry, at Chelsea’s training ground in May, he still hadn’t ruled out retiring and could barely contemplate playing elsewhere. He said if he did, he would have to wear his Chelsea shirt underneath that of his new team, because it would feel so peculiar otherwise. He might wish to reconsider now. Blue may still be the colour for Terry, but it’s not what you’d want to be caught in at Villa.
