Rutherford Worlds fear

LONG-JUMPER Greg Rutherford is a major injury doubt for London’s World Championships next month after pulling out of Sunday’s Anniversary Games. Rutherford, 30, who damaged ankle ligaments last month, has given up hope of competing in the Diamond League meeting at the London Stadium. Even so, the 2012 Olympic gold medallist and world champion is sure to be named in the GB team, given he is the only Briton to clear the qualifying distance of 8.15m.
